WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you an increase in specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. Each upgrade also increases a random substat.
The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll to get a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.
The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be accessed at any time to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.
Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, however they'll always be cheaper than buying new equipment. For example, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade weapon, armor, tool, and accessory upgrades. item upgrading can be purchased by players from NPCs of item upgraders for a variety of currencies. They are also available on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool with an The button will display a preview of an item's next level of upgrade, when there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item and the current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Upgraders for items can be found at many locations, including the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount as well as a chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded. It is also possible to be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no item upgrader available at the start of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades require a variety of means which is both an improvement and a drawback.
In Season 3, the upgrade system was altered a bit, with some new features added. After a player has earned an upgrade to a particular item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading additional items to the same level will be less expensive, even when they belong to a different gear set.
The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
Players have several options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more specific and are used for specific level upgrades for items. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that crests are only available for gear of a certain rank. Each rank has a different upgrade path. The simplest and simplest upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complicated upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through finishing content at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulties to get lower-tier gear or Mythic+ raid bosses or dungeons with heroic difficulty to obtain endgame gear. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader for the item, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't complicated to use, but it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests have one usage and it's crucial to use them properly. For instance it's a good idea make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top gear you have available, and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that take up multiple slots. The discount for the entire account will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
